STARSHIP Eleven

God I love this Game!
Here again is thrust factor. Quietly and poetically nurse your starship, or in this case bubbleship, in to soft landings on point items or places, and avoid crashing into hard surfaces, where, here, are really well depicted lunar or other-planetary surfaces. The background graphics are cool enough to keep you wanting to get to the next level. I spent a half an hour on this one. This game kept my attention and let me get lost in it way past my bedtime.

Squeaky

Well, what can I say, this is a kid’s game (unlike all the other manly games I play) but I loved the graphics, (nice to see some actual 3d Flashaction) Simple fare for the simple mind. UFOs, aliens and yes, a squeaky robot whose goal is to collect oil cans, I assume in order to stop squeaking. Junior will adore it.

TOON The RPG

Greetings Junkies! Heres a clever one for you folks. Choose your dude, a dog, cat, mouse or monkey. Then choose his modus operandi- you can thrash your way through ToonLand as an Egomaniac who uses brute force and physical harm as his method. Or take the mystical path as a Magic Abuser, or be a Thief and let greed take the reigns. Whichever you choose, your Toon animal of choice will have advantages or disadvantages depending on their species. A nice simple Stat system allows you to distribute your skill points (some given, some earned) into Muscle, Zip (agility), and Smarts, depending on what type of character you prefer. This is a Demo, so I could only use the cat as an Egomaniac, but it was quite amusing. Lots of clever dialogue and antics. Be sure to light one up before starting this game.

Avian Wars - Your own Air Combat Anime show.

If you are an anime fan, this is a fun game that you will want to play numerous times. You are part of an elite air squadron that is summoned time and time again to duke it out in the skies to keep the world a safe place. The plot is predictable anime machismo, but certainly in-depth. The conversation sequences are there for those looking to role play, and if that’s your bag, you’ll love this. As you gain experience your character will become more adept at aviation, and you can upgrade your aircraft and it’s weapons systems continually. A vast cast of characters you interact with between missions, including Rogue Pilots, Air Swat, and Ace military pilots as well as Intelligence Agents and many more lend a real dimension to this game where the action is birds-eye rather than first person.

PENDEKAR Old School Ass Whippin’

Simplistic street fighting in old Chinatown is the name of this tune. Choose from a pair of Shanghai heroes, Sangkala the male, or my favorite, Sweet Saraswati - who will use her lithe jumpkicks to beat the hell out of thugs. The bosses are a challenge, but gameplay is repetitive. Hai-Ya!!

Tubin’!

A Redneck, a rope, a speedboat and a tire tube- need I say more? A veritable hoot and a holler I tell ya! This one takes some practice to get a hang of jumping ramps to get the really big points, but the crisp graphics and silliness are quite a bit of fun. “A” class diversion with cowboy boots and Hawiian swim trunks! Hold on to yer hat as you avoid sandbars, buoys, cattails and a plethora of lake obstacles. Let’s go Tubin’!!

Woot! I’m glad I stumbled onto this one! Extremely clever and unique game. You are a fly wandering about different sections of a house gathering little blue spheres. The neat part is the way the world looks to your little fly brain- jumping from one mini-reality to the next. The black and white illustrated surfaces and very catchy Cure-ish background music may induce flashbacks. Kudos to the programmers for originality. Try it.

Shadow of a game…oops,I mean Shadow of the Warrior

The only reason I am writing on this one is that someone obviously really loved their concept and put a lot of time into making the RPG system of bartering and manna and life, etc. This would be perfect for the very young or severely mentally handicapped who need an introduction to the RPG concept. Detailed storyline but ultimately painfully boring battle mode. Think early Final Fantasy battling watered waaay down. Another one for the kiddies who might really love it.

TERRAIN: Chapter 3

If you like geeky comic book storylines and exploring madcap terrains in space, give this one its 15 minutes of fame…well 15 minutes at least. You are Dex, daring spaceman with your companion and vehicle, Mr. Ship…You can fly through some pretty neat obstacle courses basically, that are in surreality creations of evil space creatures- by the seat of your pants or with the help of Mr. Ship’s Auto-Nav system. Once you get the hang of the mouse controlled steering you can see some interesting things and try to avoid running into them and frying your ship’s shields.
